Neon FOTD No. 3: Neon Sunset

Here is my third and last entry for the MMAO Neon FOTD challenge. The creation of this FOTD was a little pain-staking, because I was tearing on my right eye and I had to constantly top up the yellow color. It may look a little uneven, heh heh, sorry for that!

I was inspired by the colors that you would find at sunset on the beach, obviously, the colors I used were neon, matte ones, but the colors I took were orange, yellow, blue and purples.

This was one of the many pictures I used for inspiration for this look. ^.^

Step 1: Apply a white base so that the matte colors stand out more. Then, take a bright yellow and apply it to the inner corner of your eyelid.

Step 2: Apply an orange color about 3/4 of the eyelid, overlapping some of the yellow. Make sure that the orange blends into the yellow.

Step 3: Using a stiff domed brush, apply a purple color into your crease/socket-line in circular motions all the way in. This will blend out the tops of the orange and yellow. Take a clean brush and blend out the outer edges of the purple.

Step 4: Line the lower waterline with a white eyeliner to make the eyes look larger and more awake. Rim some blue eyeshadow on the lower lashline and give it a little upside down wing.

Step 5: Line the eyes ala cat-eyes to amp up the drama (and to mask any little gaps at the base of the lashline)

Step 6-7: Define the brows and apply false lashes.

Step 8: I decided to give the lips and cheeks a subtle pop of color, being a cool, delicate pink so that the emphasis is on the eyes. The lipstick and blush, however, were not matte at all, but they were not too shimmery as well. Glossy for the lips, and sheen-y for the cheeks, haha!

So there you have it, the last neon look that I can conjure up with my stash and limited skills. How do you like all of them so far?

(Psst: I plan to invest in several more Inglot eyeshadows that are matte and bright, as the Sleek Acid Palette is a little powdery heh heh heh. I’ll update you guys on that front, alright?)
